Peter Cianchette sworn in as ambassador to Costa Rica
PORTLAND, Maine—Peter Cianchette is now Ambassador Cianchette.
The South Portland businessman was sworn in Thursday in Washington for his new job as ambassador to Costa Rica. The Senate confirmed his appointment last week.
Cianchette was the 2002 Republican nominee for governor and headed the Bush-Cheney campaign in Maine two years later. As ambassador, he succeeds Texas businessman Mark Langdale, who held the post since 2005.![]()
