BANGOR, Maine—A 56-year-old homeless man accused of fatally beating a fellow hobo at a makeshift camp in Bangor has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.

Stephen James was arraigned Friday in Penobscot County Superior Court in the April 27 slaying of 63-year-old Clyde Worster. His body was found in a wooded area near Interstate 95 known as "The Pines," where he and James were staying.
