KITTERY, Maine—Would-be moose hunters will be looking toward Kittery on Thursday evening to find out if they'll get a crack at North America's biggest game animal this fall.

The Kittery Trading Post is the site of this year's drawingg of moose permit winners by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. It's the first time that the lottery is being held in a commercial establishment.

The Kittery Trading Post says it's pulling out all stops for the event, with a live band, a slide and free giveaways. Fox Keim, the outdoors outfitter's vice president for hunting and fishing, says he hopes to attract a few thousand spectators, well above the 300 to 600 the lottery has drawn in the past.
