PORTLAND, Maine—Sen. John McCain will be flying into Maine on Sunday evening in preparation for a day of fundraising events in Kennebunkport and a speech in South Portland.
The Republican presidential candidate plans to appear Monday at private receptions at the Nonantum Resort and the Walker's Point summer home of former President George Bush.
Later in the day, McCain will speak on the grounds of the Maine Military Museum.
McCain's visit is the first by a major party presidential candidate since he and Democratic Sen. Barack Obama clinched their nominations earlier in the year.![]()
