BANGOR, Maine—Hollywood Slots is back open for business after being forced to close its doors because of a water main leak.

The Bangor casino had to shut down Sunday after a 20-inch pipe began leaking on Main Street out front of the facility, which opened at its current site just three weeks ago.

Spokeswoman Amy Kenney said the decision was made to shut the casino for the day after public works crews decided to replace a section of the pipe, but that the doors would open on schedule on Monday.

It wasn't clear what caused the leak, but the water pipes out have had to handle increased volumes since the new casino opened. The volumes will increase even more when a 152-room hotel attached to the slots hall opens later this summer.
