AUGUSTA, Maine—Gov. John Baldacci says two former legislators are among those being nominated to the newly expanded board of directors for Dirigo Health.

The Legislature has expanded the Dirigo board from five to nine members to add expertise in the complex area of health financing. The four nominees all face nomination reviews by a legislative committee and Senate confirmation votes.

They include Sara Gagné Holmes, who heads Maine Equal Justice Partners, and Marianne Ringel, who's held health policy and MaineCare posts in state government. The other two are former Republican legislators, Judy Foss of Yarmouth and Joe Bruno of Raymond.
