CASTINE, Maine—Maine Maritime Academy's training ship, is returning to its home port.
The ship is returning to Castine on Saturday following the academy's annual 60-day training cruise. This year's cruise took students to Baltimore; St. John's, Newfoundland; and Ponce and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ship sailed 12,000 nautical miles with 55 crew and 205 students.
The training vessel also made a brief stop in Rockland, Maine, for a family day sail on the return leg to Castine. Training cruise activity continues in port through Monday.![]()
