OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine
An Old Orchard Beach bar and nightclub was destroyed yesterday by a large fire, the smoke from which could be seen more than a mile away. Firefighters from several towns were called before 9 a.m. to the Galaxy, a two-story building on East Grand Avenue not far from the Old Orchard Beach pier. There were no reported injuries, and no immediate word on the cause. (AP)
