BANGOR, Maine—An eastern Maine wreath company and bank are being recognized by White House officials and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

David Whitney, president of Whitney Wreath in Whitneyville, and Andrew Dorr of Machias Savings Bank are being honored at the White House on Friday. Representatives from different states are being recognized as part of the USDA's initiative to recognize manufacturing successes in rural America.

Whitney Wreath, which bills itself as the nation's largest wreath manufacturer, used Machias Savings Banks for a loan to build a new wreath assembly plant, with USDA Rural Development working in partnership with the bank to make the loan possible.
