Holocaust remembrance held in Maine
AUGUSTA, Maine—The Maine Holocaust and Human Rights Center is holding an observance to remember the 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust.
Sunday's event features a brief service featuring Cantor Deborah Marlowe of Temple Beth Israel in Waterville, music, refreshments, and the viewing of an award-winning film.
The Day of Remembrance was started in 1953 to honor of the tenth anniversary of the Warsaw ghetto uprising.
The Maine Holocaust and Human Rights Center is based on the University of Maine at Augusta campus.
