SAUGUS, Mass.—The son of one of the two women found dead near a Massachusetts school has agreed to be returned to the state from Maine, where he's being detained.

Authorities say 23-year-old Joseph Wright was taken into custody at about 6 p.m. Tuesday after he crossed from Maine into Canada. He was returned to Houlton, Maine, on Wednesday, and he appeared briefly before a judge via video conference on a fugitive from justice charge.

Wright is the son of 54-year-old victim Donna Breau of Lynn.

Authorities say Breau and an elderly woman were found dead outside Lynnhurst Elementary School in Saugus on Tuesday morning. The other victim has not been positively identified but authorities say she was a close relative of Breau's.

Wright faces murder charges in Massachusetts.
