The Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center opens
Friday marks the official opening of a Roxbury mosque formally called the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center. In addition to worship, the mosque is being used for religious education, cultural programming, yoga classes, and a summer program for schoolchildren. The building has a morgue that, once licensed, will be used for the bathing and enshrouding of the community's dead.
At summer camp, Nine-year-old Sarah Erritouni of Revere practiced calligraphy.
