The Board of Selectmen is looking for volunteers for a new Rails to Trails Committee to study the feasibility of a hiking trail within the former right-of-way of the Essex  Railway, running from the North Andover town line on Sharpner Pond Road to the Danvers town line behind the Essex Agricultural School. The span is approximately 5 miles on property owned by various parties, including National Grid and the town of Danvers. The committee will conduct a preliminary assessment of the railway and report recommendations to the Board of Selectmen.
