State health officials found mosquitoes infected with West Nile virus in town this month. In response, Brookline will be putting larvicide in some catch basins and wetland areas to prevent mosquitoes from hatching, and inspect areas of standing water; crews may also spray to kill adult mosquitoes, but not before notifying residents.
