The city will flush hydrants during August on Bridge and Elliott streets, and on the side streets off those roads. Hydrant flushing will occur from 7 to 11 p.m. starting Monday through Aug. 30. It helps officials assess the condition of hydrants and also removes sediment buildup in the water system. Residents are advised to run cold tap water for a minute or two to clear discolored water.
