In an effort to better engage the community, the Hingham Police Department will host its 12th Annual Family Fun Day Aug. 26.  The event gives “the families in Hingham a chance to come over and have a fun day with police and firefighters,” Police Chief Michael Peraino said. “It’s all part of our community policing endeavor that we’re big into here.” The event will begin at Cronin Field behind the Central Fire Station on that Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will feature police cars and motorcycles, fire trucks, pony rides, moon walks, a dunk tank, face painting, and a field of foam.end of story marker
