Absentee ballots are available in the town clerk’s office for the Sept. 6 state primary election. Registered voters are eligible to cast an absentee ballot if they are not able to be at the polls on primary day due to being absent from town, a disability, or their religious belief. Anyone wishing to vote by absentee ballot must file an application in the clerk’s office by noon on Sept. 5. Private voting booths are available adjacent to the clerk’s office for those casting absentee ballots. At the primary, the Democratic, Republican, and Green Rainbow parties will be selecting nominees to run in the Nov. 6 state election. This year’s primary falls on a Thursday rather than the usual Tuesday.
