Jessica L. Huizenga, interim superintendent of the Freetown-Lakeville School District, has posted her plan for getting better acquainted with the district. Her objective, according to an online letter introducing her plan, is to “listen, observe and ask questions.” She intends to meet with school staffers, sit in on classes, and review documents such as policy manuals, school committee goals, and assessment testing scores, then report her findings to the district school committee in January. Huizenga, a former assistant principal at Randolph Community Middle School, was assistant superintendent of the Freetown-Lakeville district for two years and became interim leader on July 1, when John McCarthy left to become superintendent of Scituate schools. Her entry-plan letter is posted at www.freelake.org/pages/Freetown-Lakeville_RSD.
