The Stoughton Master Plan Committee, chaired by Joseph Scardino, is seeking public input for the document that’s expected to guide the town’s growth and development for a decade or more. The committee is working with Town Planner Noreen O’Toole to update the plan created in 1970. Town Meeting in 2010 approved $50,000 for Phase I of the project, and this spring voters authorized $75,000 for Phase II. The first phase will include identifying major issues facing the town and recommend strategies for responding to them. In Phase II, the committee and O’Toole will enlist consultants to lay out a plan of action. The committee is planning an event with the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 13 at a time to be determined, and will hold “visioning” sessions for residents in October.
