The town will hold an informational public meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Winchester Room at Town Hall to discuss NStar’s tree-trimming program, which has prompted concerns by local residents in the past. The program, funded by NStar, prunes trees near power lines so that there is adequate space between power lines and tree limbs and branches. Trimming tree limbs reduces the risk of losing power during a storm, according to NStar. The pruning is expected to be done this fall.
