Safety-training workshop at high school Tuesday

Algonquin Regional High School has been chosen as a host site for the Safe School Initiative and Threat Assessment training program developed by the US Department of Education and the Secret Service. The training will be taking place Tuesday for local educators, counselors, school administrators, law enforcement officers, and medical-care providers. The training program is coordinated through the Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Technical Assistance Center,  and features strategies to help identify, intervene, and prevent targeted acts of violence in school settings. The free workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon, with check-in starting at 8 a.m..
