Gloucester’s Committee for the Arts plans to make $50,000 in grants available for artwork installations on the new Gloucester HarborWalk. The funds come from a grant from the Seaport Advisory Council. The committee, led by Mayor Carolyn Kirk, plans to advertise for proposals for the artwork this fall. Established by the city in 2000 to promote and celebrate Gloucester’s cultural heritage, the committee has worked to preserve and increase awareness of Gloucester’s WPA murals and other city-owned art. For more information about the grant process, contact the committee’s chairwoman, Judith Hoglander, at 978-525-3280.
