Mosquito spraying available from regional agency
This story is from BostonGlobe.com, the only place for complete digital access to the Globe.
Residents concerned about mosquitoes can call the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project office to schedule an inspection and possible spraying of their property through next month. Representatives from the regional agency will walk the property and determine whether to apply insecticide. If there is not a sufficient presence of mosquitoes to warrant spraying, the inspector will give property owners suggestions on how to prevent mosquito infestation, including removing anything that could collect water, according to the town’s health director and agent, Ann McCobb. The agency has scheduled visits in town Tuesday and Wednesday, and Sept. 5, 11, and 12, but the dates are subject to change based on temperatures and mosquito populations. To schedule an appointment, call the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project office Monday through Friday from 7 a.m to 3:30 p.m. at 508-393-3055, or visit its website, www.cmmcp.org.
