The Planning Board has approved a plan to redevelop the former site of Yoken’s. The restaurant, with its whale logo and its “Thar She Blows” billboard, was a landmark on Lafayette Road for decades. It closed in 2004. The Planning Board approved the construction of two buildings on the 5-acre parcel. A 6,000-square-foot structure will be home to a 3,500-square-foot bank with three drive-through lanes, and a 2,500-square-foot restaurant. An additional 11,944-square-foot building will contain a Rite Aid pharmacy.end of story marker
