The Police Department will begin accepting applications on Sept. 1 for five reserve police officer positions. Reserve officers are required to work scheduled and unscheduled patrol shifts as needed. Hours can include three regular shifts, weekends, and holidays. Reserve officers are also required to be certified police officers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The positions include a clothing allowance after one year of service.
