Council seeking arts, science funding proposals
This story is from BostonGlobe.com, the only place for complete digital access to the Globe.
The Mattapoisett Cultural Council deadline to apply for funding proposals from community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs is Oct. 15. According to the council’s website, priority is given to projects that encourage regional activities and artists, promote community building, and engage people to learn about nature, science, and technology in ways that explain how they relate to people’s lives. The council’s grants totaled more than $5,000 last year, including those given to the Friends of Old Rochester Drama for an improvisational seminar, the Mattapoisett Free Public Library for an appearance by an author and storyteller, and the Mattapoisett Lions Club for its annual Harbor Days celebration.
