Framingham may be a town but that didn't stop Money magazine from naming it one of the top 100 small cities in the country. The magazine ranked Framingham at number 38; among the other Bay Sate communities on the list, Newton came in at number 4, Brookline was 31th, and Weymouth was number 87. Money cited Framingham’s low unemployment numbers — 4.2 percent,  according to the magazine — as well as affordable housing, vibrant downtown district, and ethnic diversity.
