The city has increased its water and sewer rates for households and businesses. The City Services Commission recently approved the increases, which are effective for the start of the fiscal year, July 1. The average single-family home will see a 5 percent increase in combined water and sewer rates. Everett maintains different steps, or categories, of water and sewer users based on volume of use, with different rates charged for each step. In addition to raising rates, the city added a fifth step for its highest users. The new combined water and sewer rates, assessed quarterly based on 100 cubic feet of usage, are $7.12 for up to 3,000 cubic feet; $9.25 for 3,001 to 6,000 cubic feet; $10.76 for 6,001 to 9,000 cubic feet; $12.12 for 9,001 to 24,000 cubic feet; and $13.79 for more than 24,000 cubic feet.
