The Alzheimer’s issue is a personal one for Westwood Town Administrator Michael Jaillet, whose mother has the disease and lives in a nursing home. “It’s horrible to realize I’ve lost her, even though she’s still here,’’ he said.
Fox Hill Village was in the permitting phase 25 years ago when Jaillet took on his job, and it has served seniors in Westwood and surrounding communities well, he said. When the facility’s administrators came to the town with the idea of the Green House project, he said, it was received positively.
“They wanted to see if we were supportive, and we were,’’ Jaillet said. “It’s a horrible disease that a lot of people are going through, and that a lot of people are about to go through.”
