The City Council’s Urban Affairs and Housing Committee on Tuesday is slated to discuss a proposal by Cumberland Farms Inc. to put a 24-hour gas station and convenience store near Maple and Walker streets. Neighbors expressed concern about traffic at the intersection during a public hearing in June, said committee chairman Matt Elder, and Cumberland Farms has since redesigned its proposal. Elder said a committee vote on the gas station could be made by the end of the month. If approved, the proposal would then go to the full City Council for a final vote.
