Lisa DeLeo and Kathy Petrella, co-owners of Lumina Salon in Reading, are holding their third annual haircut-athon from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. This year the salon is partnering with the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund through the David K. Johnson Foundation. Proceeds from the event will benefit Alzheimer’s research. The salon staff will volunteer its time and talent to provide haircuts for men, women, and children. They also will offer other services during the fund-raiser, including the application of hair extensions and temporary color streaks as well as nail polish. The event will feature a raffle for hair-care products and salon services. The town will close Haven Street for the day. Lumina’s will have a booth set up for the haircut-athon at the top of Haven Street, near the intersection of Haven and Main streets.
