Vincent Burton, Blue Hills: The Globe’s reigning Division 4A Player of the Year is off to a scintillating start, with 404 yards rushing in two games, including a 36-carry, 264-yard, three-touchdown performance in a 32-14 win at Nantucket.

Brandon Gallagher, Bridgewater-Raynham: The Trojans defeated Durfee 34-7 behind 175 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries from the sophomore running back.

David Harrison, Weymouth: In a 31-20 Bay State Carey victory over Wellesley, the junior receiver reeled in five catches for 110 yards, threw a 41-yard scoring pass, and scored two more. He also had an interception on defense.

Kiivone Howard, Foxborough: The senior running back rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns in the first half of a 40-6 win over East Providence. He has six TDs in two games.

Tom Sapienza, Whitman-Hanson: The first-year starting quarterback is off to an impressive start. In a 39-24 win over Marshfield, he threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 106 yards.
