The Rockland Memorial Library will host a free program on archeology Oct. 19 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. This program, “Buried Treasure: An Introduction to Archeology,” will be led by former science teacher Judith Macioci, a consultant to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, and Fred Robinson, vice president of the Massachusetts Archaeological Society. The hands-on program involves prehistoric artifacts and is geared for adults and children ages 8 and up. The program is offered by the Friends of Rockland Memorial Library. Preregistration is required and can be made by calling 781-878 1236, ext. 11.
