Hingham Public Library will host a “Roam the Tomes” benefit Friday in an effort to raise money for the library. According to organizers, the goal is to raise as much as $15,000, which would help expand the technology and media the library offers. “I think as the trustees, we’re really excited about this. We haven’t held an event like this and we’re looking forward to putting it together and having people celebrate it,” said Tina Sherwood, a library trustee and event organizer. Participants will participate in a scavenger hunt, and have the opportunity to meet special guest Wesley Morris, the Boston Globe’s Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic. There will also be a live auction and food provided. Tickets are $75 for the event and $125 to attend the event and VIP reception for Morris. For more information, contact the library’s circulation desk.end of story marker
