Due to the increased risk of mosquito-borne illnesses, such as West Nile virus and Eastern equine encephalitis, the Board of Health recommends curtailing all outdoor activities from 6 p.m. until dawn. Residents can also protect themselves by wearing long pants and sleeves and by using insect repellent containing DEET.
