The Amesbury Council on Aging’s Blankets 4 Kids program is seeking members of the community to make blankets for children who live in the Merrimack Valley. Volunteer Beverly Drew, in conjunction with the Council on Aging, started the program to provide children in need with blankets in an effort to provide a sense of security, comfort, warmth, and hope. Blankets can be made at home and dropped off at the Council on Aging. The council has fleece and yarn for those who would like to knit or crochet a blanket. Volunteers are needed Mondays at 10 a.m. to inventory and pack the blankets. Distribution sites include Pettingill House, the state Department of Children and Families Haverhill Office, and the Amesbury Fire and Police departments. For more information, contact Beverly Drew at 978-852-3042, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
