Regarding “Trouble on Route 24,” Sept. 13, I drove a commercial vehicle on Route 24 south in the morning, north in the afternoon, for the past 10 years. On average, more people passed in the right lane than in what was once considered the “speed” or “passing” left lane.

Some states don’t allow it for no other reason but safety.
