The Northborough Food Pantry has announced it is in urgent need of donations because of a recent increase in families seeking assistance. The organization is asking the public to donate nonperishable supplies to help keep shelves stocked into the winter months, to ensure local families do not go hungry. The most needed items are whole-grain cereals, granola bars, whole-grain crackers, healthy snacks, rice, pasta, canned fruit in natural juice, peanut butter, jelly, canned stews and soups, shelf-stable milk and juice boxes, mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup, and personal items such as toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, and lotion. The pantry is run by volunteers, and is based in Town Hall, 63 Main St. Donations can be left there whenever the building is open. For more information on volunteering or other questions, visit www.nfpantry.org.
