About a year after the Friends of Watertown Music was formed by parents and other supporters to raise money for music programs in the town’s schools, the group is set to donate $6,800 to expand offerings to students. According to the group, more than half of the amount was raised at its music festival in March. The funds will be used to expand the elementary school instrument program and high school electives while reinstating the middle school jazz band, and creating a curriculum for elementary-age students with special needs. Another music festival is planned for next year. For more information on the group, visit www.watertownmusic.org.
