The Planning Board has named members of a subcommittee to undertake a state-required 10-year update of the town's master plan. Of the nine members the Planning Board appointed, most are liaisons from other town committees; two are citizens at large. The master plan is intended to explore and make recommendations on six categories of municipal concern: land use/zoning; transportation; economic development; natural and cultural resources; housing; and town services, facilities, recreation, and energy use. Members of the subcommittee will meet regularly with the Planning Board throughout the drafting process, with the goal of presenting a finalized master plan to Town Meeting in November 2013.
