Project Bread, in partnership with Lynn Economic Opportunity, was among four recipients of $75,000 grants to promote nutrition education and access to healthy foods. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts recently awarded the grants in recognition of the health plan’s 75th anniversary. The recipients were selected in a competitive process that challenged them to develop food- and education-oriented programs to improve the lives of struggling families with children school-aged or younger. Families in the program will also be offered nutrition education, local shopping trips, cooking lessons, and more access to healthy food options.
