The Alzheimer’s Association will offer a three-session workshop for family caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients on Oct. 4, 11 and 18, at the Raynham Council on Aging Center, 2215 King Philip St. The sessions run from 1 to 3 p.m. and are free. The workshops, “Essential Skills for Family Caregivers,” will offer tips for dealing with the illness, including communication techniques, managing difficult behaviors, and safety in the home. Participants must register for the program at 800-272-3900. “I’ve had personal experience with my mother, and I’m really pleased we are able to offer this,” said Council on Aging director Elizabeth Moura. Participants should plan to attend all three workshops.
