State Police said they are investigating the discovery of a body in the ocean about 5 miles east of Marblehead Harbor. State Police said they responded along with the US Coast Guard when authorities got a report about the body at about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Police said the victim’s identity is not known, and the state medical examiner’s office in Boston is investigating. State Police said the Essex district attorney’s office is leading the investigation with help from Swampscott police and the Coast Guard.
