Local officials will kick off a two-year effort to complete a master plan that will help shape the town’s future with a community discussion Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall auditorium. Residents are invited to talk about the goals and policies that should be included in the document. The master plan is being developed in an effort to anticipate and guide changes that will help maintain the town’s character and help the community meet its needs, according to Arlington’s Department of Planning and Community Development. The master plan will tackle everything from land use, town facilities, and economic development to transportation, open space and recreation, cultural assets, and housing. More information about the master plan is available on the agency’s page on the town website, www.arlingtonma.gov/planning.
