The Friends of the Holmes Public Library and the Halifax Historical Society, as part of UMass Boston’s Mass. Memories Road Show program, invite current and former residents to share their favorite local photos and stories, which will become part of Massachusetts history. The program digitizes photos and memories shared by the people of Massachusetts. Those interested in participating may have up to three photos scanned, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Nov. 10, in the multipurpose room at the Halifax Elementary School. Photos can feature a local event or scene, a family event, or simply family members. Volunteers and representatives from UMass Boston will help with the scanning and paperwork. They will also take short videos of any resident wishing to share a story about a photo. Professional archivists will be on hand to answer questions. Copies of the material will be stored at UMass Boston and at the Holmes library and historical society’s museum. For more information, visit www.massmemories.net
