Thank you for such a touching and sad story (“Parents’ pride lives on for transgender child,” Oct. 7).

I am humbled by the love and devotion of these parents. I have a teenager and feel her pain when some small incident happens. I can only imagine how they felt all the time. It shows true parental love and what you will do no matter what. Their children are blessed.

If only all of us could be so tolerant. I try to teach this each day to my kids. I hope it resonates. I am saddened for the parents for the loss of their son and their church. But their son knew their love as God does theirs, too.
