The Weston 300 Committee is seeking nominations for the inaugural J. Ward Carter Civic Awards, which will be given out at the town's 300th anniversary celebration on Jan. 12. Named for Weston’s longtime executive secretary and town administrator, who died in April at age 90, the Carter awards seek to recognize citizens who have made extraordinary contributions to the community over the last 25 years. Nominations are due by Nov. 16, and can be sent by e-mail to weston300@westonmass.org or regular mail to Weston 300, 20 Alphabet Lane, Weston, MA 02493. The nominations must include the candidate’s name, address, and contact information, the sponsor’s contact information, and the reasons why the candidate is being nominated. More information about the awards and their criteria can be found on the town's website, weston.govoffice.com.
