Need to get a low-cost jump on holiday shopping or need some more space around the house? The Shrewsbury Child Development Committee’s annual toy and baby gear sale, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Sherwood Middle School, could help with both situations. Area families can sell outgrown toys, bikes, baby strollers, children’s clothes, and furniture, or acquire gently used items for their growing children. Admission is free for shoppers. Sellers pay $25 per table. Proceeds support the organization’s programs, including the Sing and Swing music enrichment events for children and toddlers, holiday parties, neighborhood tours, and crafts and cooking classes. The all-volunteer committee, in its 40th year, creates events and programs for children and parents in Shrewsbury and surrounding communities. In addition to the sale, the committee is collecting small suitcases and raising money for the Children's Friend, a Worcester-based nonprofit organization. The suitcases are given to children entering foster care. To get more information on the committee or to reserve a table, call 508-954-4509 or visit the group’s website, www.scdc.org.
