Town officials are seeking tax-deductible donations to fund a memorial that will honor Billerica’s firefighters, police officers, and paramedics. Plans call for a 7-foot-tall Barre granite memorial to be installed in front of Town Hall. Inscribed on the monument will be names of public safety heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty. In addition, reflecting benches, bluestone paths, and a special tributary marker etched with Leonard Buckland’s poem, “A Town Remembers,” will also be part of the memorial. To contribute, make checks payable to the Billerica Public Safety Memorial Fund and mail them to the Billerica Board of Selectmen, Billerica Town Hall, 365 Boston Road, Billerica, MA 01821. Donations of $75 or more will be recognized on a plaque at Town Hall. For more information, visit billericapublicsafetymemorial.org.
