A 19-year-old man who took a picture of himself with a stolen cellphone and then accidentally uploaded it to the owner’s Facebook account is now facing charges of armed robbery, the Suffolk district attorney’s office said. On Oct. 19, prosecutors said, Wilmer Velasquez and another man stole the phone and $15 from a 15-year-old East Boston girl at knifepoint. When the victim logged into Facebook, she saw photos of Velasquez and notified police. Velasquez was held on $5,000 cash bail and, if able to post bail, must wear a GPS monitoring bracelet.
